All About Me

Born August 2nd, 2004, I grew up in Fairburn, Georgia —one of the cities near Atlanta. As a child, I like to think I was relatively normal. I always had lots of siblings around me and neighborhood friends. Even still, I had my differences that made me unique.

Right before entering high school, I picked up game development as a hobby. My father kept telling me to stop wasting time and strive to be productive as early as possible. Since I was already an avid gamer, I decided to be productive by creating my own games with code. This is likely when I started to gain a sense of urgency...

In June of 2021, I graduated from high school at just 16 years old. I didn't graduate early because I was super smart or anything... I just wanted to leave school faster. Impatience is a recurring theme you'll see as the story continues.

Shortly after graduating high school, I published my first video game to the internet! It was a casual mobile game called Ultimate Space Cruiser. I had so much fun developing it but I wrote possibly the worst code that humanity has ever seen (the whole game was in 1 script). Most self-taught developers probably write bad code before getting mentorship.

Following the theme of impatience, I skipped college entirely. Most people my age probably got enrolled in some sort of college/university after high school. I let it be known that I wasn't going to college and so my father encouraged me to join a program called Pursuit. The main program is about a year long and I got professional training so it was certainly worth it!

From December of 2022 to January of 2024, I was enrolled in Pursuit (which is about 1 year). I came out of the program with a new specialization in full-stack web development. Most of the bad practices I had before joining Pursuit were eliminated by my wonderful instructors.

In June of 2024, I accepted an offer at The Metro Group as a Junior Full-Stack Software Developer.
